Embr Wave 2

As Mechanical Lead on the Embr Wave 2, I drove the mechanical design of a smart wearable thermostat that delivers personalized cooling and warming at the touch of a button. The device is clinically proven to provide relief from hot flashes, improve sleep quality, and reduce stress — all through precise thermal regulation on the wrist.

Mechanical Design

The Wave 2 packs a thermoelectric heat pump, battery, Bluetooth radio, and haptic motor into a slim wrist-worn form factor. I led the mechanical architecture — thermal management, sealing for splash/sweat resistance, structural packaging, and the band attachment system. Every fraction of a millimeter mattered to keep the device comfortable for all-day wear.

Manufacturing & DFM

I worked closely with manufacturing partners to ensure the design was production-ready — managing tolerances for the thermoelectric assembly, overmolded sealing, and snap-fit enclosure. Available in Rose Gold and Black, the device ships with a companion app offering 6 temperature modes.
